Climate Venture Studio June Meet-Up

The Climate Venture Studio and Dr. Shannon Bard (Entrepreneur in Residence, Lead of the Climate Venture Studio) invite you to join us for our June CVS Community Meet-Up! This session will contain a keynote presentation from Dr. Kate White (UBC Sauder School of Business, Senior Associate Dean of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Sustainability) on her sustainable behaviour research, in addition to a Q and A session and a networking opportunity. Non-alcoholic beverages will also be provided during the networking segment. Don’t forget to share your own news, announcements and asks during our open mic/community announcements segment at the end!

During this event you will:

  • Find out what is happening at e@UBC and the Climate Venture Studio in 2023; important dates and announcements on our spaces.
  • Hear from Kate White on the five broad psychological routes to encouraging sustainable consumer behaviour change.
  • Share your own news, announcements and asks (are you hiring?) with our community during our open mic (come with your updates!).
  • Meet our community of UBC entrepreneurs and connect with like-minded entrepreneurs and innovators!

This event is for entrepreneurship@UBC’s community of ventures, Entrepreneurs in Residence (EiRs), Mentors, and the climate solutions ecosystem at large. Anyone interested in our climate-focused programming and learning more is encouraged to attend.

Meet the Speaker:

Kate White (she/her), Senior Associate Dean, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Sustainability , UBC Sauder School of Business

  • Pulling from her research paper How to SHIFT Consumer Behaviours to be More Sustainable: A Literature Review and Guiding Framework, Dr. Kate White will deliver a presentation highlighting the marketing and behavioural science that examines the most effective ways to shift consumer behaviours to be more sustainable. White will also present her comprehensive framework for conceptualizing and encouraging sustainable consumer behaviour change (the ‘SHIFT’ framework).
