PR and Brand Building

Session Details Date: Wednesday, November 19, 2025 Time: 12:00 PM Eastern Time Duration: 90 minutes Format: Zoom Session Type: Expert-Led Workshop + Applied Learning

Building a strong brand and telling your story effectively are critical to gaining traction as an early-stage foodtech venture. This session will explore how founders can craft compelling narratives and use public relations strategies to attract investors, secure customer credibility, and generate media attention.

Lauren Arnold (Co-Founder, Category Communications) will share practical frameworks for developing brand narratives that resonate with stakeholders, along with examples of how startups have successfully positioned their stories for fundraising, sales, and early traction. She will also highlight how founder thought leadership can serve as a powerful PR tool.

The session will also explore low-cost, scrappy PR strategies that founders can leverage before they have the resources for full-scale PR support. Lauren will discuss how to approach funding announcements, generate media coverage, and avoid common pitfalls in startup communications.

A peer discussion and Q&A, moderated by Cohort Mentor Dr. Jody Dexter (Bioenterprise), will allow participants to raise candid questions about branding and PR challenges and connect insights directly to their commercialization strategies.

By the end of this session, participants will have actionable strategies to position their ventures in a competitive marketplace and build credibility with investors, customers, and the media.
